The Challenge
I joined the Shiken project in the middle of a rebranding process, inheriting designs from multiple designers. This meant navigating inconsistencies while establishing a cohesive design system for both the mobile and web apps. The platform serves two distinct user groups—learners and educators/creators, each requiring tailored experiences. As the sole designer and product lead for three years, I took on the challenge of: • Unifying the UI/UX across different platforms. • Balancing user needs between learners and creators. • Managing client communication and a small product development. • Overseeing sprints, ticket creation, and iterative improvements in a live environment.

The Process
To bring structure and clarity to the product, I: • Built a scalable design system to streamline development and ensure consistency. • Redesigned key user flows to improve engagement and usability. • Managed sprints by creating detailed tickets, prioritizing tasks, and aligning with the team. • Worked closely with the client to define product goals and translate them into intuitive designs. • Balanced branding with functionality, integrating character illustrations provided by Natalt (https://natalt.design
